USDA announces six senior appointments to key positions
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced six key senior appointments in Washington, D.C., on January 21, 2025, aimed at supporting America’s farmers, ranchers, and producers. Kailee Tkacz Buller has been named Chief of Staff, joined by Preston Parry as Deputy Chief of Staff and Jennifer Tiller as Chief of Staff to the Deputy Secretary and Senior Advisor for Food, Nutrition, and Consumer Services. Ralph Linden, Audra Weeks, and Dominic Restuccia round out the appointments in legal, communications, and liaison roles, respectively, according to the USDA.
Kailee Tkacz Buller brings extensive leadership experience, having previously served as President and CEO of the National Oilseed Processors Association. Preston Parry adds expertise from roles in the America First Policy Institute and the White House Domestic Policy Council. Jennifer Tiller has deep experience in agricultural policy, having served as Deputy Staff Director for the House Committee on Agriculture.
On January 20, 2025, President Trump appointed Gary Washington as Acting Secretary of Agriculture. Washington, who has served as USDA Chief Information Officer since 2018, steps into the role temporarily while Brooke Rollins awaits Senate confirmation.
