Södra raises wood prices
The Swedish Forest Owners' Association sees a continued high demand for timber and is therefore starting in 2025 with an increase in timber prices on a broad front.
In 2024, Södra raised timber prices on five occasions. In a press release, it is written that this meant an increase of 35 percent for spruce logs and 17 percent for softwood pulpwood.
"This is a fantastic development for all forest owners, as timber prices in Södra's area are in the top tier in northern Europe," Södra writes.
After the latest price increase, Södra will pay up to SEK 1585/m3fub for class 1 pine logs and up to SEK 1470/m3fub for spruce logs.
For prime softwood pulpwood, Södra pays SEK 675/m3fub.
New adjustments to the basic price
• Normal timber of spruce is increased by SEK 200/m3fub• Normal logs of pine are increased by 150 SEK/m3fub
• Small timber and log are increased by SEK 120/m3fub
• Coniferous pulpwood is increased by SEK 40/m³fub
• Deciduous pulpwood is increased by SEK 30/m³fub
