Kemira will make a multi-million Euro investment in multiple production line expansion of strength chemical agents for paper, board and tissue at its Wellgrow site in Thailand. The implementation of the expansion project will begin in 2026. The new capacity is expected to be up and running in August, 2026. Kemira is the leading producer and supplier of pulp, paper and board chemicals in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) market, and the investment will serve the expanding Southeast Asian and Indian markets.

Strength agents are used for improving the mechanical properties of all kinds of paper and board products. Kemira’s new advanced strength technology enables lower water usage, improved material efficiency, and superior strength. The technology supports customers in achieving higher productivity while reducing environmental impact when replacing older technologies.

The total estimated annual capacity at the Wellgrow site, which is close to Bangkok airport and the Port of Bangkok, will be approximately 100,000 tons after the expansion.

Kemira is a global leader in sustainable chemical solutions.
